Iguana Spring Rolls:
Description:
Wrapped mixture, sutable for daily diet or just a treat.
Ingredients:
1/4-1/3 Ripe banana
1 T Fresh rose petals (that you know haven't been sprayed with pesticide)
1 Chopped yellow squash
2-3 Strawberries
1 T Canned cat or dog food (no fish flavors as most iguanas don't like them)
2-3 Pinches calcium/D3 powder
1 Dropperful of Reptisol
Small handful fresh blueberris
1/2 Stalk rhubarb
Whole collar green leaves
Directions:
Mix together everything except the collards in a blender or food processer, or failing that, chop finely & mix together thoroughly by hand. Cut the stem off of the collard leaves. Spoon mixture into a leaf & roll it up like a burrito or egg roll. cut into bite size pieces. Do the same with more collard leaves until mix is used up.
Tip:
if you lay your iguana spring rolls on the seam side, they won't be so apt to pop open.
Refrigerate for up to 3 days. This recipe is designed for adult, large iguanas. If you are feeding a baby iguana, just puree the whole thing & put it in a bowl for the little ones.Variations can be made, of course. however, iguanas should never be fed lettuce of any kind or spinach.
