BUYHey guys Darc here again with a throw back review of Gears of war. This game was released in my mind to change the gaming world forever. Being an exclusive X-box 360 title, this game brings a whole new out look on D day. Most would think that invaders from above would come to earth and turn civilization upside down, but this threat comes from down under, a race of beings that have surfaced and raised hell on earth. Can you Marcus Fenix and your fellow cogs try to bring this war to a end once and for all?
(Graphics) The visuals of GOW were the best I had seen on 360 at that time, and yes it was a highly anticipated game due to the highly detailed characters and backgrounds. This game is not for people with weak stomachs, there will be blood and guts. The weapon art adds a nice touch to the game, not too flashy but nice.
(Sound) I must say all voice overs sound professionally done, and reload sounds just as realistic as your bullets hitting its target. Back ground music is great.
(Gameplay) Gears is one of the best third person shooters ever created mostly because of its controls. If your not fond of fps games, the controls are fairly simple and easy to get adjusted to. The over the shoulder camera view and cover system make gow's controls oh so perfect. There is campaign mode and multiplayer mode where you can test your skills out on some unsuspecting gamers. Campaign is kind of short but definitely worth playing.
Egem-Mag.com rates Gears of War a must have or a must have played. But the short campaign I must say it left me wanting more. 4.5 stars
