BUYAhhh Need For Speed how I love thee...or did. I really wanted to love this game I've been a huge fan of arcade style racers as long as I can remember. I won't say I'm disappointed or don't like this game...it's got some great racing elements to it, great cars, great graphics and breakneck speeds, but also has a couple minor flaws. The first is the story, while past NFS games were silly and nonsensical they at least fit the feel of the game. On the newest it tries to be a little darker, a little grittier. The very first scene in the game is pretty epic, but falls, not stumbles downhill directly after. The on-foot segments are pretty lame, except for that first one and they don't add anything spectacular to the game. On the other hand there's the graphics and the thrill of racing across the country...ohhh the sights are phenomenal and it's killer to be able to race through my hometown of Detroit, Mi. Fans are sure to love the white knuckled thrills of speed in this game, but the more hardcore folk who are into say, Forza or Gran Turismo should stay away. Not exactly the game I had in mind but not too bad after all. I give Need For Speed:The Run an average 3.75 stars
