I get so excited every time a new Assassin's Creed game comes out, like a lil' kid in a candy store my favorite video game franchise has released it's newest and best entry to the series so far. So a bit of a spoiler alert here, which I don't normally do, and if you're a real fan you already know. You start the game with Desmond Miles in a coma basically being kept alive by the Animus machine, only thing is, is he runs into subject 16 who's spirit is essentially trapped in the Animus with Desmond, is he a helper or does he have his own motives? Play the f**king game. Now to Ezio, while Desmond is experiencing his own trials and tribulations we find ourselves flashing back to Ezio's time where he is on a quest to find Altair's lost knowledge of the assassin's order and that's all I will give you! hahaha! The story so far is freakin' amazing as one would expect, better controls, better graphics...so much so that some cutscene animations put games like Heavy Rain and L.A. Noire to utter shame. The environments as well are also as always absolutely breath taking. Wether you are traversing the ruins of the Masayaf assassin's temple, exploring Constantinople or seeing the sites inside the animus itself you almost get lost in your surroundings, everything about this game sucks you in and leaves you craving more. And yet another game that utilizes 3D and kinect functionality though I have not tried these out. Big improvements abound in this game include a more streamlined control layout, answers to questions fans have craved for and a bigger more robust multiplayer experience (which I will get into shortly) easily make this game the best in the series.
Now onto said multiplayer. I thought Brotherhood was a very awesome experience, although the level cap was 50 and I got there fairly quick and kept on playing. I did eventually get bored because there was nothing left for me to do, nothing new for me to experience. Not this time assassin's. In Brotherhood Ubisoft 'borrowed' a little from the Call of Duty franchise with things like perks, and killstreaks. While this may seem a little lame to some, Ubisoft really made it there own to fit the experience fairly well and it was some great fun. However, this time around they 'borrow' even a bit more from C.O.D. and add 50 levels of prestige. That's basically saying the level cap here is 2,500!!!!! Add in all the new perks, characters, character customization, emblem customization and all the sweet little things they brought to the table and you have a absolutely gratifying and mind boggling experience. One I will be playing for a long, long, long time to come. Ubisoft really stepped it up on every little detail of every single aspect of this game. From the brilliant story to the stellar multiplayer. This is the real deal, the bee's knee's, the whole damn package. This game is like the perfect woman.
With that said, I'm gonna be a little sad to see the closure of Ezio and Altair's story arcs, but I'm already stoked for the release of Assassin's Creed 3, which as of now is slated for release approximately one year from now...giggity! Anywhore...now that you are done reading this get off your ass and go buy this game right now. I feel really sorry for any gamer that does not get to experience this absolute masterpiece on what is sure to be a huge staple for all games to come. This is one for the history books folks...literally. Now if you'll excuse me I am going to go beast mode on some noobs! You will find me in the shadows waiting...Requiescat De Pace! And a 5 purely perfect shining stars out of 5!
I almost wish I could give it a higher score than that. Amen!
