OK we all know that CAPCOM spam games like no other company, when I was speaking of spamming games like STREET FIGHTER IV and SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV come to mind. UMVC3 is also a version of CAPCOM's spawn-age, being that the MVC3 original game was released earlier this year. With that being said, let's review this collision of your favorite comic characters and video game heros as they fight it out in triple threat tag action.
(HADOUKEN) The controls are pretty basic for a fighting game. Your supplied with heavy, medium and strong attacks. The Characters continue to stay true to their story line whether it's WOLVERINE with his berserker type style of fighting or if it's RYU with his patient trained attacks, and that's just a thing of beauty in itself for gamers and comic lovers. But the addition of some new characters are bitter sweet in my opinion, GHOST RIDER, IRON FIST and NEMESIS, GALACTUS are thumbs up for the roster but ROCKET RACCOON.... wtf? CAPCOM could have made this game much better on this aspect considering there was a huge amount of characters that could have been used from MVC2 such as GAMBIT, CYCLOPS, JUGGERNAUT and this list goes on. But hopefully there will be some dlc packs with some of these characters *fingers crossed*. The gameplay is amazing fast paced and ridiculously easy to commit to.
(BERSERKER BARRAGE!!) UMVC3 sounds great and every punch kick and super combo will make your subwoofer rumble. This game is packed with sound but the whole series has had a perfect record in that category.
(HELL HATH NO FURY) In the visual department all i can say is omg! Bright colors and heavily detailed characters make you feel as if your watching a comic book come to life. But one of the best additions to the game is GHOST RIDER'S flaming skull and bike, that just looks so good its almost unbelievable. All the other characters also look as if they have been enhanced with color or the old eyes are playing tricks on me. Some multiplayer details also have been recognized and fixed for this version.
In conclusion.... I stood in line at the midnight release of this game and I am not disappointed. Although if you already have the previous version of MVC3 then you may not want to pay for the ULTIMATE unless your a fan such as myself.
