You simply run the error checking utility which examines your disk drive for bad sectors and attempts to repair them. When you have data stored in a bid to sector of your hard drive either the hard drive has to work harder to retrieve the information which naturally slows down your computer or in some cases makes it impossible to retrieve your important information. Repairing those bad sectors will also speed up your computer.
