Weekly Recap for 3/21/21

Welcome to the first full day of spring, with yesterday being the Spring Equinox.

And spring begins with good news from Washington County Wisconsin.

Now we just need to see how many other counties here in the state will follow suit.

Local health clinic labs are back and I’ve got a pretty much clean bill of health.  Other than my glaucoma which is being attended to, my LDL is up slightly but not worrisome and I apparently need some more iron in my diet.

How bad and what’s wrong with H.R. 1? The Corrupt Politicians Act, or formally known inside the beltway as the For the Peoples Act.

Publicly funds political campaigns— H.R. 1 will use public funds to create a six-to-one match on political contributions up to $200. This would force the American people to spend millions of dollars to fund the campaigns of political candidates.

Candidate campaign salaries would be publicly funded— Candidates that take a salary out of their campaigns would now be able to be paid with public funds provided by the previously mention six-to-one match program.

The massive H.R. 1 is 791 pages.  This particular egregious portion of the bill can be found beginning on page 604 with line one.

I’ve written to our local legislators expressing my outrage at this dumpster fire of legislation.  I’d encourage you to do the same.

I was involved in a local government Zoom Call fiasco earlier this week.  I had to bail as it was so bad.  Here are local city council individuals who have been doing multiple Zoom call a month for 12 - 15 months.    And yet, yesterday it was like it was the first time any of them had ever used the app.  Painful to watch and to attempt to listen to.  

Yes, we live far enough north that the southern border is only something we might think about if we see something on the news.  However, we need to pay attention to what the current administration is or in this case, isn’t doing to protect the rest of America.

Yes, there is a crisis at the border regardless of what the mainstream media says or doesn’t say.
