Bayfield Festival of Arts & Gallery Tour - July 15 & 16

Bayfield will be the scene for the region's largest and longest-running art festival on July 15 and 16. The 55th annual Bayfield Festival of Arts and Gallery Tour will feature the fine arts and crafts booths of 65 artists in downtown Memorial Park, along with open houses at 15 local art galleries and working studios.

This year's participating galleries include Austin Miller Studio, Bates Art Bar, Bayfield Artists' Guild, Bayfield Inn Art Gallery, Hitching Post Studio & Gallery, Eckels Pottery and Fine Craft Gallery, Kerr Studio & Gallery, Silverwaves and Stone's Throw in Bayfield; Bell St. Gallery, Madeline Island Candles and Madeline Island Museum on Madeline Island; Lake Superior Drifting Stone Jewelry and Washburn Cultural Center in Washburn; and Oulu Glass Gallery in Brule.

In celebration of Lake Superior Day, which falls on July 16 this year, participating artists who use materials or take inspiration directly from the Big Lake will be given a "Lake Superior Sourced" badge to display on their booths for the duration of the weekend.

On Saturday, July 16, the Chequamegon Bay Arts Council's (CBAC) annual fundraising auction, Art on The Bay, will be held at the Bayfield Lakeside Pavilion. Each year CBAC celebrates Bayfield's Festival of Arts with this special event which includes a cash bar, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and live entertainment.

Festival and Gallery Tour maps and directories will be available at the Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau, 42 S. Broad St., and in Memorial Park.

Follow along on Facebook! We are posting artist profiles daily, so you can see a sampling of the work that will be available this weekend.
