This particular phrase stuck out when I watched his speech live on Thursday.
"nevertheless today I am announcing that in the coming weeks I will be resigning as a member of the United States Senate"
Apparently for Franken, resigning is a process that takes weeks. Does he think he is going to get a farewell tour of some sort? You made the decision to resign. Ok, maybe not, as this all came entirely too easy. There are bigger things at play here, so don't be fooled by the grandstanding and media manipulation of the event to distract us.
