Russians, Russians, Russians.
With apologies to the Brady Bunch TV show. What triggered the democrats and their voters and supporters to suddenly begin to see a Russian behind every tree and rock? This Russophobia has taken over their party and their news cycle and the advent of Russophobia fatigue is pending.
Let us also add to the phobia diagnosis, the sheer amount of vile hatred for Donald J. Trump, our dually elected 45th President. When the clock struck 9pm on November 8th 2016 and the Democrats and those supporting Hillary Clinton suddenly realized that Hillary wasn’t going to win, the hate was turned on. As I’ve read news articles and social media posts I’ve come to one conclusion. The sewage flood gates have been opened.
In the social media arena, people that I presumed were reasonable and rational people suddenly became drooling, unibrow, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals. The nauseating and odious diatribe about the President and his supporters is unlike anything previously I’ve seen posted by folks.
Now, they are completely within their rights and privilege to express themselves as they see fit. I’ve no cause for alarm with any of that. These people abruptly went from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde, which is what concerned me. Russophobia, hate, the never-ending calls for marches and protests against the President and the dually elected government, has got to be taking a toll on people and the country.
It has now been about four months since the election, and nearly 40 days since the inauguration and none of this slumgullion appears to be stopping. Protests and marches and hate mongering continue with no well-defined plan or reasoned outcome designed. The time and effort spent since November 8th has no endgame. There is simply nothing more than an all-consuming hate for Donald Trump. I’ve not seen any procedure, scheme, strategy, idea, proposal, or proposition put forth by any of the Trump detractors.
