The ward is divided into two sections. The larger section is first on entering the ward off the main corridor with the main reception area on the left. The charts and scans for the majority of the patients on the ward will be here. However there is a smaller section of the ward at the A&E end with it’s own small office containing the rest of the patient’s charts. The main treatment room for the ward is at the A&E end. Just remember to respect infection control.  It is situated below Finbar’s Day ward and opposite St Patrick’s ward.

St Joseph’s Hospital:
St Joseph Hospital, Raheny has been under the management of the Beaumont Hospital Board since the 6th of August 2004.  It is an acute hospital, providing both Medical and Surgical in-patient and day patient care, out patient physiotherapy and radiology services (including ultrasound).  The hospital is currently installing a new CT scanner.
The hospital has developed a Rehabilitation Unit to cater for the needs of the more elderly patients.  At present, St Joseph's Hospital can accommodate 69 patients. Patients being transferred to St
Joseph's Hospital (either by taxi or ambulance) from Beaumont Hospital, require a transfer letter, and if on medication, a prescription.
Alternatively patients may sometimes be transferred to St. Joseph’s as an intermediate step prior to being discharged from Beaumont. These patients are not eligible for the Rehab services as they have not been assessed by the Geriatric services.

Note that patients in St Joseph’s will still appear on the team list. Also note that patients being transferred to St Joseph’s on an intermediate basis do not need a discharge or a transfer letter, they simply need a prescription.
