This is the geriatrics ward, which has a high proportion of long term care patients. This ward is below St Luke’s, opposite St Paul’s and above St Anne’s.

St Paul’s:
Consultants: Prof McElvaney, Prof O’Neill, Prof Costello, Dr Smith, Dr Agha.

This is the respiratory ward and has a high proportion of COPD patients and patients on NIPPV (non-invasive positive pressure ventilation) machines. Interns can also contact St Paul’s ward on call if any patient on other wards requires NIPPV machine.

This ward is below Hamilton, opposite Whitworth and above Adam’s McConnell.

St Laurence’s:
A general medical patient’s ward.
Consultants: A variety of medical patients.

This ward is below Hardwicke, opposite St Clare’s and above St Brigid’s.

St Teresa’s/St Clare’s:

The situation here is that the area that is normally occupied by one ward is essentially divided into 2 separate wards of different specialities. As one leaves the main corridor, one first enters St Clare’s with St Teresa’s at the other end.

St Clare’s:

This is the oncology ward, which also incorporates the oncology day ward service. St Teresa’s is where most gastro patients are. Expect to see a lot of diarrhoea/nausea/vomiting, ulcerative colitis patients here. A crushed ice machine is available here.

There is a tutorial room/rehabilitation room where tilt table testing is done here (between Whitworth and St Paul’s). There is a fax machine available at the oncology reception day ward area.
